Through Ichiyō’s representative works from her transitional period, the book clarifies the social-critical consciousness she maintained after her literary shift. Focusing on the unique stylistic expression of the "elegant and vulgar blended style" in Higuchi Ichiyō’s literature, it compares the 1962 translation by People’s Literature Publishing House with the 2004 version by Yilin Press, discussing common issues and solutions in the modern Chinese translation of Ichiyō’s works. From a reader-response perspective, it highlights the necessity of translating Ichiyō’s literature into Chinese.
